Life at Babú | The SS2023 Collection Photo Shoot

2023 will be our first full year of activity at babu’ and we started it doing what we love most! Designing and prototyping new shoes (more on that soon) and creating beautiful content to share with our community. Regarding the latter, it had been a while since we did our last photo shoot so we decided to organize a new one. This time around we wanted to step up our game!

Location

A former ballet school, the office of Allestimenti Portanuova is the perfect space to unleash creativity. Allestimenti Portanuova is a company specialized in designing and creating beautiful woodworks, with a wide range of applications, from yacht interiors to exhibition stands. The father of the current owner famously worked together with a young Giorgio Armani on setting up the Rinascente shop windows in Milan! The perfect inspiration for an emerging brand such as ours.

Art Drection

Meet the creative mind behind the content popping up lately on our instagram channel! Andrea Dario is a lifelong friend; he works as a model represented by The Claw Models and as a producer at EPhoto in Milan. His passion for fashion and exceptional taste makes him the perfect profile for the creative direction of the brand. You’ll definitely hear more about him going forward!

Never change a winning team! Giovanni Varlonga was the man behind the camera for most of the content you see on our instagram feed and website. He works as a freelance and has 6 years of experience in the world of fashion, shooting for several brands and magazines such as Gucci and Cosmopolitan. As he always does, Giovanni brought a ton of energy and took some stunning shots.

We believe it is important that our customers feel an everyday connection with our content, hence we decided to shoot with our friends Paola and Alessandra, who do not work as professional models. We loved the fresh and impactful interpretation of the look and feel of our brand that they were able to deliver. Enjoy one of the best shots below!

Atmosphere

Probably the most crucial ingredient for a successful shooting. We like to keep an informal and laid-back vibe as we believe it allows everyone to feel comfortable and to contribute with their creativity. We love it when different interpretations of the brand’s values, lifestyle and mood are brought to the table, sparking great ideas that we could not have imagined ourselves.
